Valuing our Filipino Language

We are Filipinos and Filipino is our language. These are just two of the things that we can never deny and we should not be ashamed of it. As a citizen of our native land, the Philippines, we have the responsibility and obligation to meet to value our country.

Have you ever wondered where our language came from? I honestly don't know the answer to that question. But, one thing I know for sure is that Filipino language was declared as the official language of the Philipines. During the term of former President Manuel L. Quezon, he expanded the usage of Filipino and so, he was also considered as the "Father of our National Language."

Although, Filipino language is not widely known and not really popular by other nationalities, we can still enhance it by using it as our medium of communication especially to our fellow Filipinos. Let us start it within ourselves to serve as an inspiration and a good example to others. By doing these, I think we will truly feel the beauty and importance of our language.

The idea of having our own language is not just merely to have our own identity as Filipinos but also, it is one way to
measure how we value our language. This is not about competition with other nations but rather, it is a way to show our love for the country.
