Life Lessons

When a wind blows, it can never come back again. . .
make the most out of it.

Second grading period came to an end. But it seems that I haven't learned much in our subjects. There were a lot of activities in and out of school that took place during this period. And it really was a destruction for us students.

On the other hand, I must say that because of these activities, I really learned a lot. The best example would be the National Leadership Training that I joined last September. It was really a learning experience for me and my fellow delegates, as well. The quiz bees I've joined in the Division English Olympics, UNP Foundation Day and UP Namnama also contributed a lot in my development as a student.

Although, I am facing the consequences of not being able to attend classes regularly like having low scores in our exams, I haven't regretted once all of the things I've experienced. I will never trade these experiences for anything.

The Noble Ones

To simply teach is not genuine
But to put your hearts in it,
that is some kind of feeling
which gives us true meaning.

You work day and night
Just to finish your tasks
And it all just feels right
When you impart it to us.

Though sometimes we can be unruly
Deep inside we are really grateful
Your efforts and sacrifices
Those things seem infallible.

How can we ever repay you?
Our dear teachers so tender
You give us the light
And nurture us to be clever.

You are more than just our teachers
'Cause you save us from blunder
Compared to Superman. you're even stronger
The real heroes we have forever.

Science: the culture, the changes

There is one thing that is permanent in this world and that is CHANGE. It may be delightful to have this changes but still important to not forget to look back to the past.

Some of their works are now being used and utilized by men. Nowadays, we might have noticed the advancement of technology that is affecting our daily lives. And they are being developed to produce better results and improve their works. Men continue to discover new things and propose innovative ideas for the benefit of humankind. But, as we all know, our geniuses in the past including Newton, Maxwell, Dalton, Einstein and others had their share on Science. Without those priceless efforts of men we won't be able to experience the world that we are having now. We should not abuse these things. But rather, let us use them for the betterment of our nation as well as the whole world. We can therefore make a change!

From the time that the fire was discovered, Science was already there. The way of living of our ancestors has now evolved into something that is far better than what they had. But we shouldn't also underestimate their contributions. They were the ones who built a strong foundation towards Science.

Valuing our Filipino Language

We are Filipinos and Filipino is our language. These are just two of the things that we can never deny and we should not be ashamed of it. As a citizen of our native land, the Philippines, we have the responsibility and obligation to meet to value our country.

Have you ever wondered where our language came from? I honestly don't know the answer to that question. But, one thing I know for sure is that Filipino language was declared as the official language of the Philipines. During the term of former President Manuel L. Quezon, he expanded the usage of Filipino and so, he was also considered as the "Father of our National Language."

Although, Filipino language is not widely known and not really popular by other nationalities, we can still enhance it by using it as our medium of communication especially to our fellow Filipinos. Let us start it within ourselves to serve as an inspiration and a good example to others. By doing these, I think we will truly feel the beauty and importance of our language.

The idea of having our own language is not just merely to have our own identity as Filipinos but also, it is one way to
measure how we value our language. This is not about competition with other nations but rather, it is a way to show our love for the country.

Study Now, Reap the Fruits Later

Time really does fly when you're having fun!

Almost three months have gone by and it seems that I've been here in school for a hundred years. You know why? It's because I simply enjoy learning and studying. This is true and I'm not just saying it for the sake of this blog.:)
Well, of course, behind these fun learnings that I've mentioned, we can't get away from all the deadly deadlines of projects, paperworks and nerve-breaking reports, researches, etc. (Obviously, it's just too many to mention!) But, as I said, it's fun to meet them all, just like meeting new friends. Do you want to know a trick? (It's easier than what you think.) What I do is I just take them lightly and I'm not pressuring myself too much. Remember also to pocket your frown and bring your smile around. This will help you relax and chill down.

Take my word. This is what I do and until now, it's still really effective. Let us all climb the peak of success! Can you climb with me?

Speech Power

"Hi! Hello!" These are the things we often hear from people when they see each other or when trying to show their friendly feeling towards someone. Sometimes, I'm thinking, are these the only words that people know that's why they kept saying it?

YES! We are aware that some people don't have the wide knowledge and vocabulary of English words because of the lack of practice and usage of our universal language which is English. How can we solve this case?

In our modern world today, there are a lot of technological advancements that we see around us. This is the time that they can build a bridge for better communication. Through the computers, cellphones and other gadgets, they can start practicing English by searching the web, talking with your friend over the phone or sending emails, messages and others using the English language. In this way, we will enhance our speaking and writing ability in English and eventually, it will develop us to become a fluent speaker in English.

Of course, in terms of using our very own language which is Filipino, I'm sure we don't have any problem with that for the reason that we are residing in the Philippines and we are already exposed in using Filipino. Although, it is still evident that some Filipinos can't understand well our language especially the people living in the provinces and having their native languages as well.

Now that we know English and Filipino, we must use them when communicating for us to be trained and get used to them. But, we must use them also properly and politely to avoid any misunderstanding and to maintain the respect of others.

A Healthy Choice

At present, there are many innovations in our environment due to the scientific ways, principles and inventions that our bright minds have discovered. Because of these changes, sometimes we are unaware or we barely even notice that our way of life or living is also changing.

There is a significant relation between the modernization of the world and changes in our lifestyle. The way we eat, sleep, walk, talk or dress are all interconnected in such a way that sometimes this is where and when lifestyle diseases arise.
The importance of eating the right kinds of food and a well-balanced diet should be known and followed by us so we'll have protection and resitance from all kinds of ailments. But, of course, we also know that there are times that we don't eat the right foods because of poverty or we are just unconscious that we are eating them.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can also be observed by regular exercise, drinking lots of water, right time of sleeping and consulting a physician. People should also minimize cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking. And let's not forget to clean our environment and plant trees to have a clean and green Earth.

Good nutrition
is the best way to prevent the lifestyle diseases that hinder us from having a peaceful and healthy life.
