Third Quarter is Over!

30, 29, 28, 27...the counting goes on. But, I don't want to think about it yet at this moment. The laughters, tears, failures and triumphs we've shared - they are so precious that I can't bare to forget.

For now, I just want to remember all the things that happened during the third grading period. I was always present in class, unlike the other grading period because of extra-curricular activities I've participated in. As a result, I was able to understand our lessons well and I have encountered less difficulty in studying for our exams since I have all the notes that I need to review.

In our TLE subject, I was anxious to learn how to create a web page because I have really no idea how to do it. I was also amazed to know that there is a program that is really designed in making web pages and it is Microsoft Frontpage. It is nice to be able to discover new things like these.

Fourth grading period has already started. I just wish that I will maintain my good study habits and I know that they will be helpful to me when I will go to college.

Spirit of Christmas

Everytime the month of December comes, it's like the whole place is filled with color. Those flashing lights and delightful decorations make the celebration more meaningful. But, are these enough for our preparation for the coming of Jesus? Sometimes, we forget that 'his coming' is the main reason why we're celebrating Christmas.

In the streets, I see a lot of unfortunate people, most of them are just kids earning money to feed themselves. Questions pop into my mind like "How do they celebrate Christmas?" or "Do they even celebrate it?". These questions are left unanswered.

People blessed with luxury often waste their money buying unnecessary things like new clothes, shoes, jewelries and others during this time of the year just to show-off or brag of what they have. They aren't thinking about the others who are working hard just to have a decent feast for Christmas eve.

Love is the key for us to be prepared for 'his coming'. We should realize that the true meaning of Christmas is not measured on the value of gifts you receive or how expensive is your feast. It is the love that should reign in the hearts of each and everyone of us.

Being A Filipino

Hospitable, warm, caring, loving, hardworking - these are just some of the values that we, Filipinos should be proud of. These are the things which make us unique and different, and it is our distinction from the other races. We should value these traits and show them to the whole world.

In relation to this, our school launched the Values Month celebration. It showcased the talents of students in singing, dancing, drawing and others which depicted some of the values of a Filipino. This year's theme was "Pagpapatibay ng Pagkataong Pilipino: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon." We should therefore strengthen our Filipino values and let us not be ashamed in showing our true colors to be a better person in the future.

The modernization of our world right now is irrepressible. But, this doesn't mean that we need to change our ways and values. We should instead uplift them and retain these values which make us a true Filipino.
